How it spreads: Hepatitis B is transmitted through contact with infected blood or other bodily fluids (e.g., sharing needles, unsterile medical/dental equipment, or sexual contact).
Who is at risk? Healthcare and emergency workers, people undergoing medical procedures overseas, and individuals with certain lifestyle risk factors.
Who Needs These Vaccines?
While childhood vaccination schedules now include Hepatitis B, many adults remain unprotected. Vaccination is recommended if you fall into any of the following categories:

If you are travelling to regions with poor sanitation or high rates of endemic Hepatitis (such as parts of Asia, Africa, Central/South America, or Eastern Europe), vaccination is a recommednded pre-travel step.
🩺 High-Risk Occupations

Household contacts or intimate partners of someone infected with Hepatitis B, people who inject drugs, or those participating in high-risk sexual activities should be vaccinated for personal protection.

For individuals who require protection against both viruses (common for travellers and specific occupations), a combination vaccine (often known as Twinrix) can provide immunity against both Hepatitis A and B in a single course.
