- Private Administration: Injections are performed in our private, soundproofed consultation room by an accredited, first-aid trained pharmacist immuniser.
- 15-Minute Observation: For your clinical safety, you will be asked to remain in our pharmacy for 15 minutes post-vaccination so our staff can observe you and manage any rare acute reactions.
Common and Expected Side Effects
Most post-vaccine reactions are mild and resolve within 24 to 48 hours. Typical signs include localised tenderness, redness, or swelling at the injection site, mild fatigue, low-grade temperature, or general muscle aches. A cool damp cloth applied to the arm and paracetamol can help ease discomfort.
Emergency Medical Attention
Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) are exceptionally rare and almost always occur within minutes of injection. If you develop difficulty breathing, swelling of the throat or tongue, severe dizziness, or a widespread itchy rash after leaving the pharmacy, call 000 or proceed immediately to the nearest hospital emergency department.
