Important: Check Destination Medication Laws
What is legal over the counter in Australia might be heavily restricted or entirely illegal in your destination country. This frequently applies to ADHD medications (like dexamphetamine), strong pain relief (containing codeine), and even common cold and flu tablets containing pseudoephedrine. Always check the Smartraveller website or the embassy of the country you are visiting before you pack.

Your Regular Prescriptions
Ensure you have enough of your daily medications to cover your entire trip, plus an extra two weeks’ supply in case of unexpected delays or lost luggage.

“Bali Belly” or traveler’s diarrhea is incredibly common. Pack antidiarrheal medication (like loperamide), oral rehydration salts, and gentle laxatives just in case.

Antihistamines are crucial for new environmental allergies or bug bites. A basic first aid kit with antiseptics, band-aids, and motion sickness tablets is also highly recommended.
