E-Scripts are now available at Moss Vale Community Pharmacy. E-Scripts, also known as electronic prescriptions, are an alternative to paper prescriptions, and allow you more choice and convenient access to medicines.
E-Scripts make it easier for people to access the medication they need when they need it. The customer journey is seamless. Patients can participate in a telehealth, or in-person consultation with a GP. Once a medication is prescribed, they can have the e-Script sent directly to their phone via SMS or e-mail to Moss Vale Community Pharmacy, or simply visit us in-store where our pharmacist can download the e-script from their Script List.
You can still receive a paper prescription if you choose, however, an electronic prescription allows you to have total control of your health and prescriptions in the palm of your hand, improving access and reducing the risk of errors. An e-script can also never be lost! Even if you’ve accidentally deleted the SMS or e-mail, or left your phone at home, your Moss Vale Community Pharmacist can download your e-script from your script list.
What are the benefits?
All medicines can be prescribed using an electronic prescription. The message with a link to your electronic prescription is stored on your digital device, so you can access it whenever you’re ready – saving you time, streamlining the process and improving medicine safety.
Over 15 million original and repeat electronic prescriptions have been issued already.

How to get an electronic prescription
- During your consultation your doctor will send your electronic prescription to you as an SMS or an email
- You will then take it to your pharmacy or send it to them
- If you have repeats, a new SMS or email will be sent to you when you get your medicine from the pharmacy
How to get your medicines
After your consultation and once you have received your electronic prescription, you will have two options to get your medicines.
Collecting your medicine in person
- Take your electronic prescription to Moss Vale Community Pharmacy so it can be scanned
Getting your medicine delivered
- For home delivery, forward the SMS or email to a pharmacy so they can scan it and request our free home delivery service throughout the Southern Highlands.
If you accidentally deleted the SMS or email with your electronic prescription token, you can ask for it to be resent. For original prescriptions, contact the prescriber. For repeats, contact the pharmacy that issued the repeat.
You can manage your electronic prescriptions through a mobile app. Ask one of our friendly staff for help in downloading this to your phone.
